The Sukhoi Su-47 "Berkut" is a highly advanced experimental supersonic jet fighter developed in Russia. Easily recognized by its forward-swept wings, this technology demonstrator provided Sukhoi with immense amounts of data on composite materials, fly-by-wire control systems, and extreme agility at high angles of attack. Although it never entered serial production, the lessons learned from the Berkut program were heavily integrated into the development of the 5th-generation Su-57 Felon.

Su-47

The forward-swept wing design grants the Su-47 exceptional maneuverability at subsonic speeds, incredibly short takeoff distances, and powerful dogfighting potential. It stands as one of the most distinct looking aircraft ever built.
