The F-22 is a fifth-generation stealth air superiority fighter developed by Lockheed Martin for the U.S. Air Force. It combines stealth, supercruise (sustained supersonic flight without afterburners), extreme agility, and advanced avionics to dominate in air-to-air combat. While it has limited ground-attack capability, its primary role is to achieve air dominance. The F-22 was never exported and remains unmatched in air-to-air capability, though production was capped at 187 operational units.
